Hibernation: Snow Day

We received a small amount of snow over the last twenty-four hours (the outside pictures are about half way through the storm).  Big prayers of thanks that this happened on my weekend off and that Ben's supervisor was understanding when we had to tell him we couldn't make it up the hill.

Some playing outside.  Lots of playing inside.  Even a little "schoolish-ness" occurred.

Thankful for my Monday's off which means we have no real need to leave the house tomorrow.

  1. Molly, what kind of thread are you using for your cross-stitch? It looks gorgeous! And I love the new blog design. Very pretty!

    1. I'm not entirely sure. It came with the kit and it's just in one long single strand.

  2. What a beautiful, fun day! I'm just about to get ready to bundle up the kids to go out and have fun in the snow we got in the last 24+ hours!

  3. Hmmm, it sort of looks like wool in the picture. Does it feel like wool?

    2. Just found the kit list. It's a wool/acrylic blend!

    3. Cool! Thank you. I have not stitched with wool or a wool blend before, but you can bet that I am going to now!

    4. The only thing I've noticed is that it wears out quickly, so you should do smaller lengths than you might do with regular floss.

  4. Love you snowed-in, pictures, Molly! Your cross stitch project has me itching to get out a lovely kit I've had tucked away for over a year. I think I even remember where it is :)
Oh, and your amaryllis are looking beautiful! Ours are spent and are buried in snow outside now...

    1. I'm thankful it waited so long to bloom. It's really nice having some color in the house right now.

  5. John just got that same set of magnetic pattern blocks from the grandparents for his birthday and so far it is also continuously strewn across the floor :)
