{Molly Makes} Ripples

A little late night end-weaving and a completed baby blanket for Henry's newest cousin, who may or may not have been born at the end of December.

Oh well, better late than never right?

This is probably my favorite baby gift item to make.  To date I've made three of these (see HERE and HERE) - pattern found HERE.

It's a great pattern in that it's detailed, but not complicated as you're just repeating the same pattern until you're satisfied with the length and width.  I'd actually love to make a regular sized throw of this pattern - one day.

So glad to finally have this done and just in time to be used before this little man gets too big, which they all do much too quickly.

Now on to the rest of the stash.

What have you completed recently?  What's next on the list?

  2. My latest project I sewed Sasha a Cinderella gown for her birthday. One thing I learned is there is no coincidence that satin is one letter off from satan. That stuff is pure evil! I still need to hem it, but I will post pictures on fb soon! Now I need to make Kasper a robot softie. I'm only a *few* months behind on that!

  3. Not completed... still in progress. I'm crocheting an American Flag afghan for my sis-in-law.(thank you gift) She has opened her home to myself and my husband on all his trips to the V.A. for his health care. We drive 2 hrs to get to her home and then spend the night there and drive 30 mins. to our appointments. She has a red, white and blue guest room. She'll love it!
When I get it finished. I've got 5 more stripes to make and 2 more stars.

Your little ripple stitch is adorable. Babies love those blankets they can grow with. My grands are here this week, 12, 10 and 7-- they've snuggled under the afghans on my couch each nite so far when watching a movie with their Honey. (he's in charge of movies) :)

    have a great week!

    1. We've got a hand knit blanket that was my husbands (made by my mother in law college roomate) that looks almost exactly like it. In fact we got so many handmade and hand me down items that I completely forgot to make him a baby blanket! But I did make him a couple sweaters and hats to make up for it!

  4. It's beautiful... I love a pattern that repeats itself often enough that I can do it without too much thought!

    1. It's a great on the go kind of pattern since it repeats and it's loose enough that it doesn't end up really bulky in the end!

    1. Thank you! I chose the colors back before we knew he would be a he. Except that I "knew" my cousin was destined to be a mama to two little boys so I felt pretty comfortable with the choice to begin with!
